Ohio State has been the cream of the Big Ten over the last several years. After four weeks of the 2019 season, nothing has changed, and ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit placed the Buckeyes in elite company.

On Saturday, Herbstreit said on ESPN’s College GameDay that six teams have distinguished themselves over the rest of the country. He included Ohio State among those six programs with Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma and LSU.

It will be interesting to see if Wisconsin can join that group. They appear to be the second-best B1G after their drubbing of Michigan last week. Wisconsin will host Northwestern on Saturday.

As far as the rest of the country goes, Auburn and Florida aren’t too far behind that top six either, and those two teams will have a chance to distinguish themselves against each other next Saturday.

Notre Dame is probably the consensus best one-loss team in the nation, but their margin of error to make the College Football Playoffs is just about zero.
