Football has officially returned.

Saturday marks the first weekend of the season in which college football teams will be back on the field. with Miami-Florida and Arizona-Hawai’i on the docket for Week 0. Before the official start of the year, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit has made his conference championship picks.

Herbstreit celebrated the start of the college football season with the preseason “Herbie Awards” on Friday night, hosting an hour-long special on ESPN. That show included his favorites for the 2019 college football season.

When it comes to the B1G, Herbstreit has some familiar names headed to Indianapolis for the B1G Championship Game. He’s predicting an Ohio State-Wisconsin matchup for the title.

“I think Ohio State is the team, still, to beat in the Big Ten,” Herbstreit said. “I think they’ll play Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis. I think Michigan is going to do a great job this year with that new offense. I think it will fit perfectly with Shea Patterson, but Ohio State still has a very talented roster.”

Herbstreit is going against the grain with both of his division winners. Michigan and Nebraska have been considered the favorites early in the year, but the ESPN analyst sees things going a different direction.

We’ll see how close he is in a few months.
