Everybody is making their picks for everything this time of year.

After all, the 2019 college football season is set to begin tomorrow whhen Miami (FL) takes on Florida. Kirk Herbstreit, an ESPN college football analyst, has The Herbies that airs every year where he makes his picks for different players in numerous categories.

Some of those categories include the best true freshman, the surprise team of the year, the biggest impact coordinator hire, best linebacker, etc. There are loads of categories.

Aside from those selections, though, Herbstreit goes over his College Football Playoff picks. Over at ESPN.com, you can see some of the finalists for the categories Herbstreit is choosing from, but you can also see his playoff picks.

Here are his playoff predictions:

Alabama over Texas

Clemson over Ohio State

Alabama over Clemson

Herbstreit obviously has Alabama and Clemson in the playoff, to nobody’s surprise. However, he also has Texas from the Big 12 and Ohio State from the Big Ten. He has the juggernauts eventually meeting each other for the fifth postseason in a row, but the Longhorns and Buckeyes picks are intriguing.

It’s been a while since Texas has been in a bowl game that truly meant something and Ohio State may be No. 5 in the AP Preseason top 25 poll, but many suggest that Michigan — at No. 7 — is the Big Ten’s best team.

What do you think of Herbstreit’s picks?
