Kirk Herbstreit picks Ohio State, DE Chase Young as best Week 5 performances

Ohio State definitely caught Kirk Herbstreit’s attention with Saturday’s win in prime time.
Herbstreit was a part of the broadcast team calling the game, and it turned out to be a thriller! The Buckeyes erased a fourth-quarter deficit and then held on late for a one-point victory. The win puts OSU in the drivers seat early on for the B1G East Division race.
Following the weekend’s action, Herbstreit picked the Buckeyes as the top team performance from Week 5. It is hard to argue with that as the team went into a White Out at Happy Valley and came away with a clutch win.
The team played great as a whole, but DE Chase Young is one player that particularly stood out to Herbstreit. He picked Young as the best individual performance from the week following Young’s two-sack performance. Young was also the player to make the stop on Penn State’s fourth down and final offensive play of the game.
Though he was unable to lead his team to victory, Penn State QB Trace McSorley was picked by Herbstreit as the second-best player performance from Week 5. McSorley threw for 286 yards and 2 TDs while rushing for 175 yards on the ground.
