Former Ohio State quarterback and current ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit had a great start to his new role as Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football.
Herbstreit took to Twitter to talk about his experience of the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Los Angeles Chargers.
“What an incredible experience calling my 1st with Al at a sold out Arrowhead with the Chiefs and Chargers for 60 minutes,” said Herbstreit. “Awesome game! In the air now headed to College GameDay at App State. Can’t wait!”

This was the first time that Amazon Prime streamed Thursday Night Football. It was also Herbstreit’s TNF debut, and the fans seemed to like it.
Kansas City took down the Chargers 27-24 in a key AFC West as Kansas City outscored the Chargers 13-7 in the fourth quarter. The Chargers accounted for 401 total yards while the Chiefs accounted for 319 total yards. A key play for Kansas City came from a 99-yard interception returned for a touchdown off Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.
Herbstreit will be on ESPN’s College GameDay as the Appalachian State Mountaineers take on the Troy Trojans on Saturday.
