Kirk Herbstreit was in Columbia, S.C. to watch South Carolina upset No. 5 Tennessee. While the Volunteers saw their College Football Playoff hopes come to an end, Ohio State and Michigan received stiff challenges but eventually remained unbeaten. Outside of the B1G, TCU was pushed to the brink by Baylor but escaped via a last-second field goal.
Week 13 presents a host of rivalry matchups across the country, none bigger than Ohio State-Michigan. Clemson, looking for a pathway into the CFP Top 4, will host a confident South Carolina squad. USC, currently on the outside looking in, hosts Notre Dame before the Pac-12 Championship against a team yet to be determined and may benefit for a little chaos among the teams ahead of it.
Herbstreit, after a Saturday that started with him at the College GameDay desk in Montana and ended with him in Columbia (not to mention a trip to Green Bay 2 days prior for “Thursday Night Football”, reflected what he’d seen while setting up a great finish:
Yesterday was a great reminder of why we love college football so much & how we can’t assume anything in this sport-Very unpredictable & so challenging for teams to stay at a certain level emotionally & physically for 12 games!
These last 2 weeks are about to be epic-can’t wait!— Kirk Herbstreit (@KirkHerbstreit) November 20, 2022
Herbstreit and the GameDay crew will be in Columbus on Saturday ahead of Ohio State-Michigan.
