Kirk Herbstreit released his Top 4 and it may be surprising to some that Herbie didn’t move a certain football program from the SEC down a notch after seeing them in person Saturday night.
Here are his top 4 rankings:
- Georgia
- Alabama
- Oregon
- Ohio State
Herbstreit’s next two are Michigan and Oklahoma.

A lot of college football fans may be upset with Herbie because he kept Alabama as the No. 2 team in the country and dropped Cinniannti out of his top 6 and instead moved up one-loss Michigan and undefeated Oklahoma.
The Bearcats have struggled the past few weeks and Saturday was no exception. They beat Tulsa 28-20. The Golden Hurricanes at the time were 3-5 coming into this matchup.
The Crimson Tide struggled against an LSU team that only has 2 conference wins, several key injuries on defense, and a lame-duck coach.
But Alabama and Cincy weren’t the only teams that struggled Saturday, so did Ohio State and Oregon, which is maybe why Herbstreit is giving the Crimson Tide the benefit of the doubt. He also moved Ohio State into his top 4 after Michigan State’s loss.
