Kirk Herbstreit released his top 4 college football teams following Week 8 on Sunday, showing little change in his top teams. Ohio State and Tennessee rolled to wins while Georgia and Michigan were idle with bye weeks.

Herbstreit liked what he saw from Ohio State on Saturday as the Buckeyes steamrolled Iowa, and he had them at the top of his list. The Buckeyes will have one of their first big tests on Saturday as they take on rival Penn State.

Herbstreit had Tennessee at No. 2 following the Vols routing of the FCS opponent UT Martin. Tennessee, which is off to a 7-0 start, will take on Kentucky next week and have Georgia the week after.

Georgia came in at No. 3 on Herbstreit’s list. The Bulldogs ranking comes after their bye week. They look to keep their success going into next week as they take on Florida.

Michigan was No. 4 on the list after the Wolverines got a week off with a bye. They will take on rival Michigan State next week.

Alabama and Clemson were just out of the top 4 as Alabama dominated Mississippi State and Clemson got past a strong Syracuse squad.

We’ll see how these rankings look heading into November after the dust in Week 9 settles.
