There’s going to be some debate.

Until the College Football Playoff committee makes its selections official, everyone is going to debate whether Ohio State or Alabama belong in that fourth and final spot. Who are we kidding? It’s going to be debated afterwards, too.

ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit provided a little insight on Saturday night, unveiling his top four teams after Championship Saturday. If it were up to him, he’d have the Buckeyes in that final spot over Alabama. Herbstreit revealed his full top four while calling last night’s ACC Championship Game between Clemson and Miami.

Here’s who Herbie has in the College Football Playoff:

  • No. 1 Clemson
  • No. 2 Oklahoma
  • No. 3 Georgia
  • No. 4 Ohio State

Herbstreit said that he believes the Crimson Tide would beat the Buckeyes head-to-head, but said the committee would probably put Ohio State in the Playoff field.

We’ll find out soon enough if the selection committee agrees with Herbstreit’s assessment.
