Another week of college football is in the books, meaning Kirk Herbstreit has updated his top six rankings.
On Saturday night, while calling the SMU-Memphis game, Herbstreit updated his top six rankings, showing college football fans what his College Football Playoff picture would look like right now. There weren’t many drastic changes, but he is still including two B1G teams in the mix.
Herbstreit still believes Ohio State is the best team in the country, followed by a pair of SEC squads. In total, he has two B1G teams, three SEC teams and an ACC team in his top six spots. Here’s Herbie’s list:
- Ohio State (8-0)
- LSU (8-0)
- Alabama (8-0)
- Clemson (9-0)
- Penn State (8-0)
- Georgia (7-1)
Georgia picked up a big 24-17 win over Florida in Jacksonville and Clemson plowed through Wofford this weekend. The other four teams on Herbstreit’s list were idle.
Next Saturday, we’ll get a little more clarity as Alabama and LSU square off in Tuscaloosa and Penn State travels to Minneapolis to take on undefeated Minnesota.
We will likely see some significant changes to Herbstreit’s top six next weekend.
