By most people’s accounts, KJ Hamler had a great game against Maryland.

The speedy wide receiver was all over the place in the big win over the Terrapins. He hauled in six catches for over 100 yards with one touchdown. His touchdown was a particularly impressive catch-and-run that went for 58 yards.

Hamler met with the media after Penn State’s practice on Wednesday to discuss that outing. But to Hamler, his performance was not all that impressive:

Hamler may feel he was average in the Week 5 win, but he’s probably the only one that feels that way. His speed in the open field is a big difference maker and is a weapon for Penn State’s offense.

Part of the reason Hamler thinks he was average in the win goes back to his high expectations. When asked what would classify as a great game, he went with a particularly high number:

While that number seems untouchable, we won’t put anything past Hamler with his speed and open-field moves.
