Kris Murray’s 2022 season is going pretty well outside of a few injury issues. Murray missed the B1G opener against Wisconsin on Dec. 11 with a lower-body injury.
Fran McCaffery cleared the air at Tuesday’s presser on when Iowa fans can expect Murray to be back from injury while setting the Iowa star’s status. McCaffery stated that Murray is listed as day-to-day and could potentially make his return on Dec. 29, when the Hawkeyes play Nebraska in Lincoln.
Kris has been playing a lot like his brother Keegan did last season. Kris is averaging 19.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game for the Hawkeyes. Keegan currently plays for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA.
Promising update from Fran McCaffery on Kris Murray, who remains “day-to-day” but Iowa’s HC was hopeful Murray could return Dec. 29 at Nebraska.

The Hawkeyes are 8-3 on the season and received 21 votes in the latest AP Top 25 Poll despite not getting ranked. Iowa is still looking for its first B1G win after losing to Wisconsin in the conference opener.
This means that Murray will miss at least one more game before returning from injury. Iowa plays Eastern Illinois next on Wednesday via BTN+. Tipoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET.
