Kurtis Rourke is heating up for Indiana, and he’s off to a near-perfect start against a tough defense of Nebraska.

Early in the 2nd quarter, Rourke and the Hoosiers embarked on an 88-yard drive. It was started by a brilliant 4th-down stand from the IU defense that included a forced fumble to keep points off the board.

On the ensuing drive, Rourke would go 3-for-3 with the offense using just 6 plays to cover the distance for a touchdown. Every throw was impressive from the quarterback with the receivers coming up with nice grabs as well.

The big play of the drive came on a 2nd-and-6 after crossing midfield. Rourke stepped up and took a shot to Omar Cooper Jr. in man-to-man coverage.

The pass was pinpoint accurate while Cooper elevated over the defender for a 36-yard grab. It went all the way down the 7-yard line of Nebraska.

On the ensuing play, Indiana dialed up a beautiful option play. After faking a hand-off, Rourke acted like he would run to the outside. But as the cornerback charged, Rourke pulled up and delivered a throw to the outside that allowed Myles Price to grab and go.

The throw allowed Price to get his momentum moving forward and he was safely into the end zone for a big touchdown for the Hoosiers:

To start the game, Rourke is 11-for-12 throwing the ball for 130 yards and his touchdown. Nebraska has since scored to make it 14-7 in favor of the Hoosiers, so Rourke is going to need the offense to keep things clicking to get the win on Saturday.
