Kwity Paye has been officially ruled out for the Indianapolis Colts game against the Washington Commanders due to an ankle injury, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Paye will miss the third game in a row Sunday after suffering a high-ankle sprain on Oct. 6 versus the Denver Broncos. With the 2nd-year defender out, former Ohio State defensive end Tyquan Lewis is expected to see an increased snap count in Week 8.
Paye was carted off during the 2nd quarter after rolling his ankle in the 12-9 win over the Broncos. He has yet to return to practice since the injury, according to reports.
Colts also ruled out QB Matt Ryan and DE Kwity Paye for Sunday’s game vs. Washington.

A former standout for the Wolverines’ front 7, Paye was selected 21st overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.
As a rookie, the 6-foot-3, 260-pound defender registered 32 tackles, 10 quarterback hits, 4 sacks, and 3 tackles for loss. Prior to exiting Week 5’s matchup, Paye had recorded 16 tackles, 5 QB hits, 4 tackles for loss and 3 sacks.
Before Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo became household names in Ann Arbor, Paye was 1 of the top pass-rushers for the Wolverines.
Paye was limited to 4 games in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That season, he recorded 12 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks.
Kickoff from Lucas Oil Stadium is set for 3:25 p.m. ET on FOX.
