Kyle McCord has had a nightmare start to Week 9. Through the quarterback’s first 3 drives against Pitt, McCord completed just 3 of 11 passes for 36 yards with 3 interceptions.
Of those 3 INTs, 2 were pick-6s as the Panthers racked up 94 yards on INT returns in the 1st quarter. For the whole quarter, McCord completed 9 of 19 passes for 85 yards and 3 interceptions.
Throwing 3 INTs in a single game is bad enough, but doing it in 1 quarter is a nightmare. The Orange found themselves in a 17-0 hole entering the 2nd quarter and will need to come up with some answers quickly.
Predictably, social media has been having a field day poking fun at McCord’s horrific quarter. Let’s take a look at some of the best reactions.

McCord had not had a bad season heading into Week 9. The former Ohio State QB has the Orange sitting at 5-1 overall and 2-1 in ACC play. However, the QB has been no match for the impressive Pitt defense thus far.
With 12 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter, the Orange were down 24-0. Entering this game, the team had aspirations of pulling off a major upset of the nation’s No. 19 team. Instead, the Syracuse offense has been unable to get out of its own way.
