Kyle Young’s time in Columbus is coming to a close with his Ohio State career wrapping up Sunday evening.
A fifth-year player for the Buckeyes, Young transitioned to a role coming off the bench this season after serving as a 2+ year starter for Chris Holtmann. Young still thrived in that role, averaging 8.3 points and 5 rebounds while shooting 51% from the field.
Unfortunately, the end of Young’s season was disrupted by time in the concussion protocol. He was back on the court against Villanova but left with another injury in the second half and would not return as the Wildcats held on for a 71-61 win.
After the loss, Young penned a farewell note to the Buckeyes on Twitter. He wrote that he “loved every minute” and was “grateful” for the chance to suit up at Ohio State. Young also expressed his gratitude to those that cheered him on through the years.
I’ve loved every minute I got to play in a Buckeye uniform and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to compete for this university. I’m going to miss this with all of my heart but want to say thank you for all the love and support over the years❤️ https://t.co/Uo7oZbthAC

In 5 seasons, Young has appeared in 134 games (68 starts) and had career averages of 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Buckeyes. Best of luck to Young wherever he winds up moving forward!
