Nebraska controlled the game for three quarters, but when it came down to crunch time, it was Iowa that made plays.

The Hawkeyes overcame a 15-point deficit in the second half to post a 28-21 victory over Nebraska in Lincoln. A blocked punt proved to be a huge difference in the game, cutting a 21-9 deficit into a 21-16 contest.

Then, Iowa’s defense was able to get a safety to trim the lead down to just 3 points. A 44-yard field goal from Caleb Shaduk knotted the game at 21-21 with over 7 minutes to play.

On Iowa’s following possession, it put together a 6-play, 76-yard touchdown drive, capped by a short touchdown run by Spencer Petras on a quarterback sneak. A 55-yard run by Tyler Goodson set up the scoring drive.

Below are the highlights from some of the most pivotal plays from Friday’s win:

Jermari Harris then sealed the deal with an interception to secure the victory.

With the victory, Iowa improved to 10-2 on the season. It is still in position to win the B1G West and make a trip to Indianapolis in a week. The Hawkeyes need Minnesota to beat Wisconsin to advance.

Iowa’s win also marked the seventh straight time the Hawkeyes have defeated the Huskers.

Nebraska will end the season with a 3-9 record. All 9 losses came by single digits, with 8 coming in 1-possession games.
