Laviska Shenault on the color red at Colorado: I can’t wear that around here

It sounds like both teams are in store for another heated matchup when Nebraska and Colorado face off Saturday.

The two teams are longtime rivals from their time spent in the Big 12. They used to play each other every year, but 2018 was the first time the two faced each other since 2010.

It was good to see that the rivalry is still alive and well, and the deep roots are still felt on both campuses. Colorado wide receiver Laviska Shenault discussed that on Tuesday.

In comments shared by Adam Munsterteiger with Buff Stampede, Shenault admitted that wearing the color red is still frowned upon on campus. Though he does love the color red, he knows he will get looks and comments if he wears it around Boulder:

“I do love red,” said Shenault with a smile, “But I can’t wear no red around here. I have worn red before and they have said something.”

Hopefully, Nebraska can make Colorado and its fans see red with a strong performance Saturday. The Cornhuskers are looking for a bit of revenge after losing the 2018 game by a score of 33-28. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 3:30 pm EST on FOX.
