LeBron James is from Akron, Ohio. He is also arguably the best basketball player to ever touch the court.

If not the best, then he is in the top five. That much isn’t debatable.

Regardless of his basketball greatness, though, he has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in two different stints. He loves Ohio. And he loves the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He’s made that known throughout the years.

James has certainly made plenty of friends around the NBA since entering the league and one of them is who he considers a best friend in Dwyane Wade. The two won multiple titles together while with the Miami Heat.

Wade is in Lincoln Saturday for the Nebraska-Ohio State game that is headlining Week 5. Why? Because his wife, Gabrielle Union — an actress and model — is a native of Omaha, Neb. She loves the Huskers. And so because of that, Wade has adopted a love for Nebraska as well.

With the two friends at clear opposite ends of who they will be cheering for Saturday night, James reached out to the couple about a potential bet:

This is quite funny. And, Ohio State is heavy favorites in this game. If a bet does take place, will that be considered at all? Who knows.

We’ll wait to see if Nebraska can straight up beat Ohio State at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC to see if the spread makes no difference whatsoever.
