ESPN’s College Gameday has seen many memorable moments in the landscape of College Football. Ten years ago with Gameday at SMU at Houston, Lee Corso had one of his memorable moments when he dropped the “f-bomb” on live TV.

Corso admitted it wasn’t one of his finer moments.

“Ten years. I can’t believe it,” Corso told Herbstreit. “I’m so embarrassed. The funny thing about it is I got home and my grandkid’s said, ‘Grandfather, you’re a hero on the Internet. You said a bad word on television.’ I said, ‘Geez, what a way to be a hero to your grandchildren.’

“I was so embarrassed. … I haven’t thought about it much. It was really a disappointing thing. … They wrote me a little apology and I read it while smiling. They said, ‘You know, take two. This is serious though.’ … We’re still here, and I can’t believe it.”

The reactions from Kris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit were quick and hilarious. The home crowd of Houston fans erupted in cheers as Corse tossed the SMU megaphone from the set in favor of the Houston headgear.

While he was in trouble for his remark and had to apologize publicly for feeling too much of the excitement, the scene left one of the biggest and most hilarious moments in College Gameday history. The following week in the Iron Bowl matchup, Corso put tape on his mouth before putting on the Alabama headgear.
