Lee Corso’s first appearance of the season on College GameDay on Saturday drew fan concern across social media. A number of fans pointed out Corso struggling with certain sentences and repeating himself on occasion.

But according to co-worker Rece Davis, Corso’s health – and mind – are just fine heading into Week 1 and the rest of the season, even at the age of 87.

During his appearance on the “Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz,” Davis said Corso should be more like his normal self in a familiar setting in Week 1. That setting will be at the desk with the rest of the crew, on-site in Columbus.

“I would encourage the people who were perhaps unkind or cruel to reserve a little judgment,” said Davis. “He’s doing great, I speak to him regularly. This weekend in Columbus, I think you’ll see a much more comfortable environment and you’ll see him be able to deliver as he still does.

“His mind is still razor sharp at the age of 87. I should be that fortunate.”
