Local police departments receive threats against Michigan State athletic events

The East Lansing and Michigan State University police departments have received threatening letters against MSU athletic events, the university police announced Friday.

Per the police, the letters provide no details about the threat, with no indication of a date, venue or manner of threat.

Following the announcements of the letters, Michigan State University and Athletic Director Mark Hollis released statements on the situation:

 

Both of the police departments are working together to investigate the origin and validity of the threats.

Michigan State visits Michigan on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
