A longtime priority target on Illinois’ recruiting radar has just become a little more available.
On Thursday, 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong reported that four-star linebacker Antonio Doyle has decommitted from Missouri and is reopening his recruitment. Illinois is one of the schools he’s still considering.
Along with the Illini, Doyle is also keeping Oklahoma, LSU and Texas A&M. He has not ruled out a recommitment to Missouri, either.

Doyle is a 6-foot-4, 230-pound linebacker out of Hazelwood, Missouri. He brings incredible strength and hard-hitting skill to the position, and would certainly be a candidate to make an immediate impact for the Illini.
Per 247Sports, Doyle ranks as the 11th-best outside linebacker in the 2020 class and is the No. 4 player from Missouri. Overall, Doyle ranks 140th national in the cycle.

Illinois is still significantly behind most of the B1G in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Though Smith has landed three guys with four-star ratings, there are only eight players currently committed in the class.
The Illini rank 13th in the B1G and 87th nationally.
