There’s been little difference on most predictions for the College Football Playoff. Most websites, blogs and writers all seem to have pretty similar thoughts about the upcoming year.

But one prominent CBS Sports writer has a slightly different idea of how things will play out in 2o17.

Five writers from CBS made their selections for the College Football Playoff. Alabama, Ohio State and USC were nearly unanimous picks across the board. Clemson, Florida State and Oklahoma snuck into the mix, too. But Barrett Sallee included two teams that nobody else selected.

Georgia and Penn State.

Sallee, who’s most well-known for his work covering SEC football formerly at Bleacher Report, has the Bulldogs getting in over Alabama and the Nittany Lions edging out the Buckeyes. His other two selections are Clemson and USC.

Really, Penn State isn’t too far of a reach, especially considering it was the B1G champion last year. What really shocks most readers is keeping Alabama out of the mix.

Is Sallee just going for shock value? Or does he have some information that nobody else seems to know about?
