Look familiar? Purdue’s Rondale Moore is back to his old, explosive ways in 2020 debut

Watching Rondale Moore on Purdue’s first possession against Minnesota on Friday night, you wouldn’t know he hasn’t stepped on the field in over a year.

On Purdue’s opening offensive drive, Moore looked like his old, explosive self, eluding defenders, breaking tackles, picking up big gains and ending a drive in the end zone. And that was only a few plays into the game.

Moore caught two passes for 32 yards on the first drive, which included a big gainer where he put the Minnesota defense on skates. He also had 1 carry for 8 yards, which resulted in the junior receiver hitting the end zone.

Moore’s touchdown tied the game at 7-7 in Minneapolis.

Moore is a former true freshman All-American wide receiver, earning the honor following the 2018 regular season. His year was cut short in 2019, sustaining a season-ending injury against Minnesota early during the campaign.

Moore initially opted out of the 2020 season but decided to return to the field when the B1G reinstated the season. He didn’t play in Purdue’s first three games, but the Boilers sure look happy to have him back now.
