If you had predicted that Iowa would beat Mississippi State 27-22 in this year’s Outback Bowl, hats off to you.
That’s an odd score. And, to be honest, it was an odd game. There were five turnovers in total, both teams made runs off of those turnovers in very quick timing and Iowa was outgained on the ground by 205 yards — while still winning.
After the five-point win, the Hawkeyes and their fans celebrated mightily. Yes, it’s an exhibition game, but it’s a win over an SEC school. It makes the victory that much sweeter:
