Even the biggest critics of Penn State coach James Franklin had to love one thing he did this week, as he shared a heart-felt moment with injured Buffalo punter Evan Finegan.

Finegan broke the fibula and tibia in his right leg when Journey Brown dove into him on a blocked punt attempt. He underwent surgery to repair his leg Sunday.

Since the operation, Finegan has shared that he’s received so much love and support from the Penn State football community. Then Tuesday, he posted a photo with Franklin visiting him in the hospital.

That’s always awesome to see. Franklin also began his postgame press conference with a supportive message to Finegan.

“Before I get into anything else, obviously want to make sure that our thoughts are with their punter, Evan Finegan,” Franklin said according to Onward State. “You never like to see that on either side of the ball for either team. We want to make sure that we do anything that we can to help support them while they’re in town, but our thoughts are with him.”

Some other support Finegan received from Penn State came from Nittany Lions punter Blake Gillikin and returner Jordan Stout.
