Michigan was tired of taking flack for not releasing an updated 2017 roster. So the Wolverines caved in on Monday.
Not really.
Yes, Michigan did release a roster on Monday…of former stars and current NFL players. It’s complete with the most up-to-date players, positions, jersey numbers and, of course, which franchise they’re playing for now.

The whole roster situation became an issue when a writer at NJ.com noticed there was no updated roster on Michigan’s website, the only football team in the B1G to not have one for 2017. A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was then filed, but denied by the university.
Harbaugh said that the roster would be released on Aug. 30 after fall tryouts were complete.
Until then, opponents and media alike are going to have to settle for this attempt to put a funny spin on the hidden roster saga.
