LOOK: Purdue fans troll Indiana with epic banner at Assembly Hall

One of the constant knocks in the Purdue-Indiana basketball rivalry is that the Hoosiers own five NCAA Championship banners while the Boilermakers have none. But on Tuesday night, a few Purdue fans brought their own banner to Assembly Hall.

Right now, it’s the only banner that matters in the rivalry series.

Tuesday night, Purdue posted a 48-46 win over Indiana in Bloomington, thanks to a game-winning tip-in from Matt Haarms with 3.2 seconds left in the contest. It was the fifth-straight win for the Boilers in the rivalry series and the third-consecutive victory at Assembly Hall.

After the game, a few Boilermaker fans in attendance broke out a huge banner that didn’t sit too well with Hoosier fans. The sign read “IU hasn’t beaten Purdue in 1,096 days & counting.”

This is why we love college sports.

Purdue’s win on Tuesday night was particularly special, as the Boilermakers are now tied atop the B1G standings with Michigan and Michigan State, all owning a 12-3 conference record.

The Boilermakers have won eight of the last nine against the Hoosiers, including four of five in Assembly Hall.
