In a team wide vote today, Rutgers selected its’ four captains for this season. And there was one surprise.

The surprise elected captain was quarterback Kyle Bolin. The signal caller has only been with the program for 2 1/2 months after trasnferring from Louisville.

For now, Bolin is in a competition with fourth year junior Giovanni Rescingo and freshman Jonathan Lewis for the starting quarterback job. But if Bolin’s captaincy means anything, he seems like the heavy favorite to start for Rutgers week 1 against the Washington Huskies.

Head coach Chris Ash is expected to name a starter later this week or next week.

The other three captains for the Scarlet Knights are as followed: junior middle linebacker Deonte Roberts, fifth-year senior left guard Dorian Miller and senior defensive end Darnell Davis.
