The Wisconsin Badgers are a mere days away from opening the 2017. And on Tuesday, they named their captains for the season.

They named eight total captains. Here are the eight players who earned the right to call themselves captains:
- Alec James, DE
- Jake Cichy, LB
- Michael Deiter, OL
- Natrell Jamerson, S
- T.J. Edwards, LB
- Troy Fumagalli, TE
- Conor Sheehy, DE
- D’Cota Dixon, S
Wisconsin opens its season on Sept. 1 against the Utah State Aggies at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
