Kelly Bryant finds himself in an interesting position. The former Clemson quarterback transferred to Missouri, but due to a recent NCAA investigation and subsequent findings in an academic scandal, the Tigers’ football program is ineligible for postseason play.

Because of the findings, it appears that seniors on Missouri’s football team will be permitted to transfer to another school without having to sit out a season. So, once again, Bryant could be on the move without taking a single snap for the Tigers.

The NCAA’s ruling, and the fact that it didn’t inform Bryant and others of the potential sanctions, prompted former Ohio State and current LSU quarterback Joe Burrow to speak out.

And Burrow made a pretty strong case in support of Bryant.

Regardless of whether you agree with the NCAA’s decision to implement a postseason ban on Missouri, it would’ve been fair for the organization to inform any transferring student-athletes of the pending investigation and potential sanctions. Now, Bryant will have to look elsewhere if he wants a shot at a conference or national title.

Missouri was cited for an academic scandal that resulted in a former tutor completing coursework for 12 student-athletes on the baseball, softball and football teams. All three programs were handed a one-year postseason ban and three years of probation, along with other penalties.
