The NBA Summer League officially came to a close on Tuesday night as the Sacramento Kings won the title over the Boston Celtics.

Even though Luka Garza wasn’t on either of those teams, he still was sensational during the Summer League, and that put him in impressive company. He was named to the 2021 All-Summer League Second Team, along with Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, Paul Reed, and Patrick Williams.

Garza led the Pistons in rebounds per game with 9.6 and he was also 3rd on the team in points per game with 15. The only 2 players ahead of him in that category were Cunningham (18.7 PPG) and Saben Lee (15.6 PPG).

Garza was also 4th on the Pistons in blocks per game with 1 and if these are the kind of stats the Pistons get from Garza full-time next season, it’ll get them closer to pushing for a playoff spot. Detroit finished just 20-52 during the regular season, which was the worst record in the Eastern Conference.
