Luke Fickell and Wisconsin took a 21-10 halftime lead over USC at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum in the Badgers’ 2024 Big Ten opener.
Braedyn Locke, starting for the first time this season in place of the injured Tyler Van Dyke, is 6-of-12 for 130 yards and a touchdown, 2 weeks after a 13-of-26, 125-yard, 1-TD outing against Alabama.
“He has control of this offense. The (game against Alabama) was a good week, but those four games last year were really good,” Fickell told CBS Sports’ Jenny Dell at halftime. He can do everything we want him to do, maybe a little bit different.”
The Badgers forced the Trojans into 3 first-half turnovers. Despite that, Fickell is looking for even more from his team in the second half.
“It’s a four-quarter game. We really gotta get after them,” Fickell said. “They got too many yards (on) too many … mistakes on our part. We gotta stay after this. It’s gonna be a great 4-quarter game.”
