Luke Fickell has had a very busy month.

Fickell was announced as the new head coach for the Wisconsin Badgers on November 27th. One month later, Fickell still has not moved his family and belongings to Madison.

Speaking with the press ahead of the Badgers’ Guaranteed Rate Bowl in Phoenix, Fickell was asked about the process of moving a family after taking a new job.

“Haven’t done it yet,” answered Fickell. “I haven’t seen them really since that Sunday.” Fickell was referring to Sunday, November 27, when he was officially announced as HC of the Badgers.”

Fickell was then asked about the difficulty of being away from family for so long.

“It’s difficult. It’s difficult. But, ya know, we felt like this was the best thing for all of us, for our program, which is our family as well. There are sacrifices that have to be made by all,” said Fickell.

Fickell’s Badgers are set to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl on December 27.
