Luke McCaffrey talks first start at Nebraska

Heading into Week 4, one of the biggest question marks surrounding the Nebraska program was which quarterback would get the start for the Huskers.
Adrian Martinez had held down the job the first three weeks but was facing pressure from Luke McCaffrey. Ultimately, Frost went with McCaffrey, and the decision seemed to pay off as the Nebraska offense excelled in a 30-23 win against Penn State.
With McCaffrey holding a 1-0 record as a Nebraska starter, the younger brother of NFL standout Christian McCaffrey met with the media on Monday.
Asked Luke McCaffrey when he knew he could run Nebraska's offense, felt confident.
"I don't know that I really ever doubted that."
He's better this year than last, he admits.

Though only a sophomore, it appears Luke has learned a lot from his older brother about what it takes to be successful. He seems to have handled the backup role well and doesn’t seem uncomfortable slipping into the starter’s role.
That appeared evident on Saturday against the Nittany Lions. He finished the game with a 128.9 quarterback rating. He threw for 152 yards and a touchdown in the win. He also showed his running capability with 67 yards rushing and a touchdown.
This seems like it could be a great first step for Husker coach Scott Frost. If he can find a long-term solution at quarterback, the turnaround in Lincoln might be accelerated to a certain extent.
