Pro Football Focus releasesd their top 5 running backs from Week 3 around college football and Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson somehow didn’t make it.
It’s an odd decision after Henderson had 3 touchdowns in the Buckeye 41-20 win over Tulsa on Saturday, and 2 of them came from long-range as well. He finished the game with 24 carries for 277 yards and averaged over 11 yards a carry, which are all career highs for him so far.
Despite that, PFF had Jerrion Ealy, Sean Tucker, Blake Corum, Daniyel Ngata, and Sean McGrew for their top 5 backs.
Highest-graded RBs of Week 3
1. Jerrion Ealy, Ole Miss – 92.6
2. Sean Tucker, Syracuse – 86.5
3. Blake Corum, Michigan – 86.0
4. Daniyel Ngata, ASU – 84.9
5. Sean McGrew, Wash – 83.0 pic.twitter.com/LgmiON97dO— PFF College (@PFF_College) September 19, 2021
All of these backs had great games for their respective schools on Saturday and that especially goes for Corum. He finished the day with 13 rushes for 125 yards, plus 3 touchdowns and almost 10 yards a carry for the Wolverines.
That said, he and the rest of the backs on this list didn’t do as good as Henderson did which is why this is still a bit confusing.
If Henderson has close to or as good of a game against Akron next Saturday, could that vault him into PFF’s top 5 list for Week 4? We’ll have to see as the Buckeyes are favored by more than 5 touchdowns going into it.
