Malik Hall was held out of Michigan State’s loss to Purdue on Monday as Hall continues to deal with a foot and ankle injury. Fortunately, Tom Izzo had some encouraging news following Hall’s visit with a specialist.
According to Izzo, the team sees “a light at the end of the tunnel” regarding the status of Hall’s injury. A few days ago, Izzo was pessimistic about Hall’s status moving forward but believes he will be able to return to action in the near future.
Hall’s specialist provided an indication that the foot is still healing fine and that it was likely just a tweak that Hall experienced. While Izzo does not have a full timetable for when Hall will be healed, Michigan State’s head coach did say the door is open for Hall’s return.
Izzo says it won’t be a week, maybe two, possibly three for Hall to potentially return.

Hall has been limited to 9 games so far this season but is fourth on the Spartans with 9.9 points per game and third in rebounds with 4.1 per game while shooting 52% from the field.
Hopefully, Hall is able to get back even sooner than expected and provide a boost for Michigan State heading toward the postseason.
