Maliq Carr has found the end zone for his first touchdown in a Michigan State uniform, and it came off a bizarre sequence for the Spartans.

The play started in what looked to be a designed throw to running back Elijah Collins in the flat. Payton Thorne found Collins and put a throw on target.

Unfortunately, the throw was a bit too hot to handle for Collins, and he batted the ball into the air. Luckily, Carr was alive behind the play, sliding in for the catch before going out of bounds.

Coming into the game, Carr had 10 catches for 161 yards for Michigan State this season. His catch in the second quarter gave the Spartans a 10-7 lead over Indiana as Mel Tucker’s squad goes for bowl eligibility.
