March Madness is one of the most exciting times in all of sports, as college basketball takes center stage in the sports world. Fans all across the country are taking PTO days from their jobs so they can see the start of the action.

However, the start of the game between High Point and Purdue took a little longer to start, as the opening tip took not 1, not 2 but 3 tries before the game got started.

The official went to throw the ball into the air, but the guys on both teams jumped before he got the chance to toss the ball. On the second attempt, they both barely left the floor. Even on the actual tip, both guys mistimed their jump and hit the ball as they were coming down. High Point won the jump to get the game started.

That’s not the kind of smooth start to March Madness you want to see, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a harbinger of bad things to come. We’ll see how that game works out with the Boilermakers carrying a 37-27 lead into halftime.

The Boilermakers are looking to make another deep run in March, as they went all the way to the national championship last season before losing to UConn. Stay tuned for coverage of all things going on throughout the NCAA Tournament.
