Marcus Mariota is one of the true program legends for Oregon. Now, he will be inducted into the Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the 2025 class.

The university announced the move on Monday, with 5 athletes earning the honor and one legendary team in women’s track and field receiving the distinction. Star offensive lineman Hroniss Grasu, the starting center for Mariota’s time and a 2-time All-American, also received the honor.

Mariota broke through as a star freshman for Chip Kelly’s final season in Eugene and presided over the ceiling of the Mark Helfrich era with the Ducks. The star quarterback would lead Oregon to the 2014 College Football Playoff and a Rose Bowl win over Florida State before losing to Ohio State in the inaugural CFP National Championship Game.

In the process, Mariota would win the 2014 Heisman Trophy, the first in program history, in runaway fashion. Mariota captured 90.92% of the possible points, giving him the 4th-largest win in the history of the award.

Mariota is still Oregon’s all-time leader in passing yards (10,796), passing touchdowns (105), and he is also 7th in all-time rushing touchdowns with 29. His 134 total touchdowns responsible for is another program record.

Now, he will take his rightful place in the HOF of the Ducks.
