Michigan State has been beaten up with health issues all season long.

The Spartans, who are 6-3 overall, have been able to weather the storm a bit. But, things haven’t been perfect.

Part of the issue for Michigan State from a health standpoint has been QB Brian Lewerke. Lewerke is known as the Spartans’ starting signal caller. However, he has missed games in the past due to injury.

Last week, against Maryland, Lewerke played, but he didn’t play particularly well. Michigan State won the game 24-3, but Lewerke completed 11-of-20 passes for zero TD and 1 INT.

On Tuesday, the Big Ten had its weekly teleconference and Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio updated the status of Lewerke:

Lewerke isn’t 100 percent, but, who is entering Week 11?

He also hasn’t lost his job. Rocky Lombardi, according to Dantonio, will continue to be the “reliever.”
