Michigan State finished a bit of a rough season with a 6-6 record, but head coach Mark Dantonio has come away impressed with two young players this season.
During Dantonio’s weekly radio show Tuesday night, he highlighted the work of true freshmen offensive linemen J.D. Duplain and Nick Samac. According to Matt Wenzel with MLive.com, Dantonio said he expects both players to turn into three-year starters for the Spartans.

Both players did see the field at various times this season. Samac appeared in six games while Duplain appeared in nine. Both are listed as guards and signed with the Spartans out of Ohio.
Considering the struggles and injury issues along the line in recent seasons, having two young players in line to be long-term starters is a great sign heading into 2020. Hopefully, the duo continues to develop and is able to remain healthy for MSU.
