Michigan State suffered a brutal defeat on the road against Ohio State, but there is no time to waste in turning the corner.
On tap for Week 7 is a trip to Madison, Wisconsin to face the Badgers. This is a particularly brutal stretch of the schedule as the Spartans face the conference’s top two teams back-to-back with both games on the road.

Unfortunately, Michigan State was missing one defender against the Buckeyes and had another leave early with an injury. Fortunately, head coach Mark Dantonio gave a positive update when discussing the injuries during his Sunday teleconference.
According to Chris Solari with The Detroit Free Press, Dantonio indicated the injury to Jacob Panasiuk should not be long term. Unfortunately, he didn’t go into any other details on the injury:
Dantonio said Jacub Panasiuk’s injury should not be long term but does not give any more information about the DE.

Dantonio also indicated that Kalon Gervin was forced into starting action against Ohio State with Josh Butler dealing with something. Fortunately, Dantonio believes Butler will be back for the trip to take on the Badgers:
Dantonio said CB Kalon Gervin started because Josh Butler was dealing with an injury. Thinks he will be ready for Wisconsin game.
