Marvin Harrison Jr. may go down as one of the all-time great receivers in Ohio State history. However, he’s not dodging the impact The Game has on the legacy of every Buckey player.
While meeting with the media on Tuesday, Harrison admitted the various recruiting classes at Ohio State debate which is the best. That question ultimately revolves around one distinction: Did your group beat That Team Up North in The Game?
So far, Harrison’s 2021 recruiting class is 0-2 against Michigan:
“We all go in there and debate in the locker room who has the best class. Who has the best team? And the number one question you have to ask is did you beat TTUN? They always start to stare, so that’s kind of the point where it’s a deciding factor on where your class ranks as far as legacy-wise,” Harrison admitted. “It definitely matters to us.”
Marvin Harrison Jr. has never defeated TTUN, and he knows that has to change in order for his class to leave a legacy.

That 2021 recruiting class for the Buckeyes was a star-studded cast that included Harrison, JT Tuimoloau, Jack Sawyer, Donovan Jackson, Emeka Egbuka, TreVeyon Henderson, Kyle McCord, Tyleik Williams, Denzel Burk and others. Quinn Ewers — now with the Texas Longhorns — was also a part of that class.
While that class has achieved a lot in Columbus, the ultimate barometer of their success would be righting the series with a bounce-back win against Michigan. This year, a win would also give the Buckeyes another step closer to the national title.
Will Ohio State turn things around in The Game?
