Maryland has added another member to the 2022 recruiting class.

On Friday, the Terrapins picked up a verbal pledge from 3-star athlete Lavain Scruggs. A member of the 2022 class, Scruggs is a native of Severn, Maryland and attends Archbishop Spalding. He gives Maryland 12 commitments in the 2022 class.

Scruggs announced his decision with a post on Twitter on Friday:

Per 247Sports, Scruggs is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete who ranks as the No. 31 prospect out of Maryland. He does not have any Composite rankings at this time.

Scruggs picked Maryland over offers from Buffalo, Liberty, UMass and Temple.

Maryland’s 2022 recruiting class currently ranks No. 48 nationally and No. 12 in the B1G. There are four players in the cycle from Maryland who have decided to stay close to home.
