Friday night in Champaign will feature a pair of teams heading in different directions, with the Terps coming off a 62-0 blowout of Howard, after their season-opening win over West Virginia. For the struggling Illini, they will be looking to get past their at-home embarrassment at the hands of Texas-San Antonio and a one-sided loss to Virginia.
Memorial Stadium will be familiar territory for some of the Terps staff.
Maryland head coach Mike Locksley was an offensive coordinator at Illinois from 2005-08. Also, special teams coach Ron Zook was the head coach at Illinois from 2005-11.
Kickoff is set for 6:30 PM on Friday, Sept. 17 in Champaign, IL.
