Bruno Fernando became the fourth former B1G player to hear his name called at the 2019 NBA Draft.

On Thursday night, Fernando was taken with the 34th pick in the NBA Draft, being selected by the Philadelphia 76ers. However, because of a trade, Fernando wills start his professional career with the Atlanta Hawks.

Fernando is the first Angolan player ever selected in the NBA Draft.

Last season, Fernando was a double-double machine for the Terrapins, averaging 13.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. He also had a big presence defensively, averaging nearly two blocks per contest for the season.

Fernando also knocked down 60.7 percent of his shots from the floor.

The NBA is obviously a different game, but Fernando dominated the post in the B1G last season. He brought a strong presence inside on both ends of the floor and is capable of doing the dirty work on the court, cleaning up rebounds and getting easy buckets at the rim.

Fernando was the fourth B1G player selected on Thursday night, behind Romeo Langford (No. 14), Jordan Poole (No. 28), and Carsen Edwards (No. 33).
