Maryland clinches B1G title win with blowout victory over Purdue

Maryland’s baseball team has won a conference championship for the first time in over 50 years.

Friday night, the Terrapins posted an 18-7 blowout victory over Purdue to claim the B1G regular season title. The Terrapins improved to 18-5 in conference play with just 1 game to play.

Maryland closes out the regular season on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET against Purdue. The Terps were one game ahead of Rutgers in the standings entering Friday. The Scarlet Knights are 16-6 and have games against Michigan on Friday and Saturday.

The Terps’ B1G-clinching win comes a day after they set a program record for wins in a season. With Thursday’s victory over the Boilers, Maryland improved to 43-10, a school record in the victory column.

Maryland is now 44-10 on the year and has won 7 straight games. Below are some of the highlights from Friday night in West Lafayette:
