Maryland has seen a busy Tuesday as it relates to players entering the transfer portal.

Linebacker duo Kam Blount and Ja’Khi Green both announced their intentions to head for the portal when it officially opened on Monday. Now, 2 more Terrapin defenders — a defensive back and a defensive lineman ,— are portal-bound as well.

Jayon Venerable, a DB who saw action in 4 games in 2021 but didn’t play in 2022, revealed his decision on Instagram.

“Let’s see what the next chapter brings us,” the caption read.

Zion Shockley, a Baltimore native who played in 3 games on the defensive line in 2021, will also enter the portal, he revealed on Twitter.

The Terrapins closed out the 2022 regular season with a 7-5 mark, finishing B1G play at 4-5. That was good for 4th in the B1G East Division.

Mike Locksley’s team will find out its bowl destination on Sunday. This is the Terps’ 2nd straight year in a bowl, the first time they’ve been to consecutive postseasons since 2013 and 2014 under Randy Edsall.
